The Scrounger Jig - Setting The Angling World On Fire!

Rigged Scrounger JigThe Scrounger Jig!

I would like to introduce all of you to a great new bait my wife and I have been fishing with for the last month or better. It’s called the “Scrounger” and has recently been released by Aaron Martens Lures. This great new bait is based upon an old idea and was just recently made public back during the 2007 Bassmaster Classic.

It’s a swimming style jig head that will give any king of plastic a very distinct action and vibration much like that of a chatterbait. The Scrounger can be used for just about any kind of fish from a panfish to a saltwater striper and more, it can be tuned or customized to give you a certain action, and it’s rocking action makes it hard to get snagged. It can be used as a search bait or bounced across the bottom, the Scroungers uses are almost limitless with the wide range of plastics available to anglers these days.
My wife and I have been using different kinds of plastics on ours and each has produced fish. We both began with a Berkley “Real Stix” which was just amazing on this lure. I have since switched to a Lunker City “Fin-S” Fish and the Mrs. has switched to a big Jacks worm, both of these have produced alot of fish. If your looking for something new for a competetive edge or just looking for something to put on a kids pole so they can catch something too, try a Scrounger.

You can read more about the Scrounger in the Fishin Fanatics forums and see the complete line and purchase at The Scrounger Shop. These new baits are making waves in the tournament scene for sure. I threw together a short video slide show (shown below) so you can get an idea of the action the Scrounger has and see some pictures of a few Scrounged fish, enjoy!
